"Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness"
Joseph Pilates (1945)
Vanessa's early years in Hong Kong and Tokyo, followed by her childhood in New York, gave her a strong love for movement. Even after settling in London for her career in television and events, her passion for movement stayed with her, thanks to her regular practice of yoga. One day, Vanessa stumbled upon her first Pilates class and instantly fell in love with it. This newfound affection for Pilates motivated her to become a certified teacher, a decision she has never regretted.
For Vanessa, Pilates is all about being present: having a deep connection with the body, both in her teaching and her personal practice. She enjoys working closely with individuals, helping them build a stronger relationship with their bodies and working towards their fullest potential. Vanessa embraces the idea that Pilates involves both the mind and the body, and she brings a sense of fun and warmth to her classes. Her interactions with clients focus on not only building physical strength but also achieving mental clarity. People who attend her classes leave feeling refreshed and centered, with a newfound inner strength and a greater sense of well-being.
Vanessa is continually inspired and motivated by the benefits of Pilates. She's dedicated to ongoing learning and development, making sure that her teaching and practice continue to grow. Vanessa trained under Anoushka Boone at Pilates in Motion Studio, learning both traditional and modern approaches to the Pilates Method. She holds a CYQ Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates and is a member of The Society of the Pilates Method (SPM). In early 2024 Vanessa successfully completed a Barre instructor course.
